Can you believe these suckers haven't figured out our laughter language.
I can believe it, we are great mesengers.
Speaking of messengers, can we have a quick convo about hormones?
Sure, what were you thinking?
I know hormones can be divided into three groups...amino acid derivatives...peptides...and lipid derivatives.
The amino acid derivatives are thyroid hormones, catecholamines, and melatonin.
What is a catcholamine?
epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine.
your... the dope..amine, ha!
wait, were you laughing or speaking in laughter?
both, hahahahaha
So anyway, peptide hormones are usually prohormones and include stimulating hormones.
Yeah, and lipid derivatives include eicosanoids and steriod hormones.
So these hormones are all secreted from the organs of the endocrine system?
Yeah, the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal glands, pancreas, pineal gland, and the parathyroid glands.
Are there any other organs that contribute to the endocrine functions?
Yeah, there sure are little buddy!
You would be little too if you had hypothalamus issues affecting your production of growth hormone-releasing hormone.
Sorry, I meant no offense!
So back to the organs with secondary endocrine functions...
Oh yeah.
The heart, thymus, digestive tract, kidneys, and gonads... They all do something to contribute to endocrine function.
Good lesson Mr. Future Acromegaly!
