Hi, are you Will?
Will: Yes, I am.
Is it okay, if I bring my dog?
Will: Sure, no problem. Come on in.
Great, thanks.
Every rider has different needs.
As the boss of your car, you get to decide
what you can do for your rider?
For example, what if your rider comes up
to your car with a dog?
Maybe you’re happy to take dogs.
It’s possible to cancel the trip,
if you don’t want to take pets.
You could say something like:
unfortunately, my company policy doesn’t allow pets.
Which makes it sound like
you’re just trying to follow the rules.
However, we strongly encourage your work
with the rider and accept those pets.
But what if the rider has a service animal?
Service animals are protected by federal law,
and you cannot refuse them under any circumstances.
If you refuse a service animal,
even if you’re nice about it,
you’re risking your partnership with Uber.
So, if a rider asks:
is it okay if my service animal rides with us?
The answer is always:
yes, of course.
Do you mind keeping the animal on the floor?
We actually think
that if you have to take service animals
like seeing eye dogs,
then you might as well take all dogs.
That way you can keep your cancellation rate
low and your riders happy.
