[7x7 Experience Partner or Rider?]
>> If you accept a trip and then realize
that you cannot pick up the rider,
you can cancel using
the option for "Do not charge rider."
You can also use this option
as a way of being nice to the rider
if there was a misunderstanding
about how Uber works,
and you cannot take their party.
That's up to you.
The cancel option
"Rider requested cancel"
is for those times
when your rider tells you,
"You know, I'm really sorry,
I need to cancel."
It is the rider saying
they want to cancel,
so "Rider requested cancel."
By the way,
never start your response with "No."
Your rider will ask
for things you can't do,
because they're illegal
or you just don't want to do them.
But if you say, "No I can't,"
how does that make the rider feel?
Instead, you want to find
a gentle way to say you can't
and offer a solution.
One option is to say,
"Unfortunately that's against my company policy,
but I can do this instead."
Maybe your company is just you, by yourself,
but that counts.
You're telling the rider
that you want to work with them,
but you aren't doing something
that you feel uncomfortable or unsafe doing.
If you can offer more than one solution,
it's even better,
because the rider will choose between them.
