Hi I'm Susan John and I'm running for reelection to the State Assembly. Strong leadership and an ability to work with others are essential to making our community vibrant and our our families solid. In the past, you and your neighbors have elected me because I possess the leadership needed to ensure our children get the education they deserve, our seniors have access to the health care they need, families feel safe and secure in the homes, and hardworking men and women have good paying jobs to make ends meet. Our middle class families are no longer being squeezed, they are being crushed, and when I go to Albany I never lose sight of that. Quality education and good paying jobs go hand in hand. Although the state faces tough economic times, the state must pickup the lion's share of educating our children to lower your property taxes. Each day, my efforts are focused on jobs. Good paying jobs at places like Delphi, Alstom, and the University of Rochester. That's why I worked tirelessly to reform New York's worker's compensation law, lowering business costs by twenty-five percent. Listening to you, I know what's important, like keeping our children here. That's why I introduced a bill that will keep young adults in our community through an income tax credit for working young adults as well as income tax deductions for student loan payments. Along with Mayor Duffy, I'm working to make our streets safe and sex offenders out of our community. I support legislation that brought the State Police together with local law enforcement to keep our neighborhoods safe through Operation Impact. And I'll continue to work to better protect our loved ones I will not compromised when it comes to our families safety. Our community has so much to offer While past policies have failed, I support Governor Paterson in charting a new course to get Monroe County and New York State on the right economic track. Together, we'll provide the leadership needed to make this a better community to live, work and raise a family - ensuring a brighter future. I know you share my commitment to our community, our country, and a brighter future. I hope I can count on your support on November fourth.
