Let's learn about cardinal, ordinal and nominal numbers.
A cardinal numbers says how many of something there are.
It answers the question
how many?
There are no fractions or decimals.
As it is only used for counting.
An ordinal number tells the position of something
in a list.
1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th, 5th etc.
Ordinal says what orders things are in.
A nominal number is a number
you use like a name
not as an actual value or position.
