>>Agnes Zdaniuk: My research
examines two keys things.
First of all,
it looks at fairness issues
within the organization.
So, I have examined that
from a number of different
perspectives, but I think
my core area of research there
is understanding mistreatment
in the work place and to do
that I look at kind
of two things.
So, one is how people
feel about mistreatment
and how it impacts
their lives, both at work
and outside of work
but also how they cope
with mistreatment, so I
kind of look at those two
polar extremes and
try to understand why do some
people take one route and
why do people take the other
route when something
bad happens to them.
And, then I also
look at organizational factors
like leadership can
influence how people feel at
work, so some of my
work looks at how leaders can
influence how you
respond to mistreatments.
So, whether you are
engaged in kind of more
pro-social responses like
forgiveness, it also looks at
on the kind of
behaviors leadership engaging
in to promote an overall kind
of healthy work environment
beyond fairness related
issues.
I think fundamentally
everything I do is just care
by one motivation
is how do we makes peoples'
lives better at work
ultimately that's what keeps me
up at night,
right, is trying to understand
what we can do as
researchers to help and form
business practice
about just how to make
life better for people at
work.
