After you've confirmed you have the correct rider,
you want to welcome them into your vehicle.
Even smiling and saying something simple like,
"How's your day going so far?"
can really help your rider feel at ease.
If you want to set yourself apart from other drivers,
this is a great time to engage your rider.
Challenge yourself to greet your rider
based on what you know about them.
Are you picking them up from the airport?
Ask them about their flight.
If you're taking them home
from a night out on the town,
ask them how their evening went.
This can help you make your memorable to your rider
in a positive way, but be careful with it.
Your greeting is an excellent way to figure out,
if your rider wants to talk.
Some of our riders love to talk,
and asking them about their day
gives them a chance to open up.
What if your rider says, "I'm fine"
and takes out their cellphone or looks out the window,
the rider probably doesn't want to talk
and you don't need to force a conversation.
Paying attention to this kind of clue
from the rider can make a big difference
to the rider's experience.
