At each visit, check for complications including temperature,
respiratory rate, weight, mid-upper arm circumference and edema.
You should also do the appetite test.
If the child develops complications, fails the appetite test or there is an increase in edema If the child loses weight for 2 consecutive weeks and fails to gain any weight in 3 consecutive visits they should be referred for in-patient treatment.
