My experience with a person
who had HIV:
At the time we were together.
I did not know,
and only realized because of the pills
that I found in his drawer.
It obviously affected me
a lot psychologically.
Depression.
I had many questions:
Why did he hide
having an illness
of that magnitude?
Why was it hidden from me?
Well he told me that,
that he had this illness
frozen,
that he had it but
did not transmit it.
I obviously did
my research.
I realized it was true because
I was with him about...
This was six years ago.
I continue having myself tested.
I'm negative.
I wasn't infected with anything.
And every six months
I do the tests again
and I have absolutely nothing.
He even has three children
and he was married,
and she wasn't infected either.
I think there are three HIV levels,
so I started
investigating from there
and reading more
about the HIV virus.
I learned more about it myself.
Nowadays I have a
four year old daughter.
My pregnancy was normal,
I had nothing,
I was clean everytime
and I still have a healthy child
to this day, thank God.
But yes, this...
We should not ever be afraid
of asking,
of knowing more
about HIV,
because for me I think it's
something
normal to want to know, to find out.
Always check yourself,
have yourself tested,
because you never know and
it's a disease that attacks
at any moment,
during any time of your life.
That's it.
Thank you.
