Born in Busan he had quit high school to come to Seoul. His sole purpose was film making. In 2004 he made his debut with a documentary and then he launched several films such as and . Many of his works were screened in film festivals of Rotterdam, Buenos Aires, and Jeonju winning several prizes. For him, film is a media that channels 'identity'; identity is the key motivator of his creative work. It's also a process through which Kyeong Mook becomes aware of himself. He is currently producing his third long film and also leading a project on multiple identity diaspora.
