Translating Content with Amber Matz In this tutorial, we’ll walk through the process of translating content. By the end of this tutorial, you will understand how to translate the home page to Spanish. To follow along, you should understand the concept of user interface, content, and configuration translation in a Drupal site. On the demo site, the Home page content item must exist, the core Content Translation module must be installed, and your site must have at least 2 languages. Finally, the Basic page content type must be configured to be translatable. See the written version of this tutorial for links to the prerequisite tutorials. In the Manage administrative menu, navigate to Content. Locate the Home page. You can also search for it by entering Home in the Title field filter. Select Translate from the Operations drop-down. Click Add in the row Spanish. Note that the user interface has switched to Spanish. To switch it back to English, remove the first instance of "es" in the browser’s URL. Let’s fill in some of the fields to translate this content to Spanish. For Title, for the Body, and for the URL alias. Now, click Save this translation. View the site’s home page and then click on Spanish in the language switcher block, or Español, rather. You will now see the translated home page. You can follow these steps to translate other content on your site. In this tutorial, we translated the home page to Spanish. See the written version of this tutorial for links to resources that will expand your understanding of this topic.
