Ah, sorry to interrupt...
Oh! Pardon me.
HELLO HOXBIES!
Welcome to Workstyle Freestyle.
With me, Alex Hirst. And with me, Lizzie Penny.
So, today we are talking about the Hoxby superpower.
It's our own special little superpower.
Just have my batman bottle just kicking around..
Uh, don't drink from a bottle that a two year old has just drunken from. Rank!
We think Hoxby has an absolutely incredible superpower - it's fundamentally a different way of working.
It's not only an incredibly talented and diverse group of people coming together from around the world to campaign for something they believe in,
but it is also testing a very different new model of work, which is a community model that can be brought together in three different ways.
So we have hundreds of Hoxbies, but what's fascinating to Alex and I
is how our different clients are interested in working with those Hoxbies in different ways.
You can see Alex drawing on the board right there, wonderful!
I'm not sure if you can see this, but essentially the model we have is
a centralised hub, then a community of people that sit around it.
The hub does all of the coordination, the people are where the magic really happens.
So there are three ways of working with Hoxby that leverage this model:
The first is: Source. What we mean by source is
not HP or Tomato, in fact what we are talking about is
crowdsourcing, essentially Hoxby community sourcing.
So what we're doing is asking members of the community
to contribute into an activity. So that might be asking to
research or opinion, or to help come up with new ideas.
So that's the first methodology: Source. Bringing information in.
The second methodology is: Storm.
Which is where we get to bring those people together
into groups, orgnaise them behind a conversation and have a two-way dialogue
or, in fact, a many way dialouge, between the members of that group.
Is there an arrow from person to person in there as well as from person to group?
Sorry if you can't see that, must invest in some larger pens for this in future.
And the third methodology, without further ado, is: Select.
So we've got a community of over 500 people at the moment
What we're going to do is pull together the perfect team against a brief.
So we're selecting specific people to work together
I've just drawn a triangle connecting the three there.
I can see that triangle, it's good.
So select is the third methodology and it's the
thing that is really exciting - when we can bring people together
from different industry experiences, functional backgrounds, geographical markets together
into highly bespoke teams.
So those are our three methods!
Hopefully that is in fact legible on the board.
Thanks for tuning in to Workstyle Freestyle, we'll see you next week.
Bye!
