My name is Hirotada Okawa
and i’m a researcher of physics in Instituto Superior Técnico.
I’m studying high energy physics and astrophysics
with numerical relativity.
Today I would like to talk about numerical relativity.
Even if our universe can be described by general relativity,
it's too difficult to understand what is really happening in our universe
because the equations are very complicated.
But numerical relativity enables us to reproduce interesting phenomena
such as the end of stars and the collision of stars
including black holes.
We can see such an exciting object far from our galaxy
even on our personal computers. Of course, in safety…
Numerical relativity became a useful tool to investigate gravity.
Thank you very much.
