It's time!
All you animals, come out! We must beat this crocodile!
Let the terrible crocodile Return the sun into the sky!
How can we fight such a beast?
He's toothy and horrendous.
He won't give the sun to us.
Let us run to the bear's lair.
"Won't you help us, kind bear?"
Oh, where did you thick-heeled cubs get off to?
Who do you take this old bear for?
Shameful, old one, to despair.
You're not a hare, but a bear!
You should go, knock-kneed bear,
Claw that crocodile rare.
Mangle him in one fell blow!
Tear the sun out from his maw!
And, when it is set aright
in the heavens, shining bright
Then your woolly children will -
My dear cubs, thick of heel,
- run back home, and you will hear:
"Hello, grandpa, we're here!"
Give us our sun!
Hello, grandpa, we're here!
