I hear my heart beating.
It's loud in my ears.
I touch my chest and feel its urgent pulse in my palms.
The tips of my fingers bleed this drumming heart.
The howling ocean wind is in my veins.
An ocean that holds my wildest dreams
and most horrifying nightmares.
The ocean hit me hard.
It swept away everything I loved,
so I walked away
and searched for home.
I float
and sometimes I sink.
Endless horizons of salt water sting my eyes and clear my vision,
losing myself in its embrace.
This right now
is an endless moment encompassing all things,
a reflection,
a reminder,
an ocean,
a vast, deep, living and breathing ocean,
flowing,
crashing,
shining.
