Using saber and conocer

Okay, are you ready to learn two more
irregular verbs? They are "saber"
and "conocer." They both mean in English
"to know." So you have to memorize the conjugations
and when to use them. First of all
I'll conjugate them for you. Saber -
sé, sabes, sabe,
sabemos, sabéis, saben.
Conocer - conozco,
conoces, conoce, conocemos,
conocéis, conocen. Notice that they are
both irregular in the "yo" form.
Here's some examples. To say with "saber"
I know how to ski - Yo sé esquiar.
I don’t know how to speak French.
No sé hablar francés.
She knows how to dance. Ella sabe
bailar. We know how
to use the computer. Sabemos usar
la computadora. We use "conocer"
most of the time with people.
To say I know José. Yo conozco a José.
She knows the teacher. Ella conoce
a la profesora.
Do you know the man? ¿Conoces al hombre?
So once again, use "saber"
when you know how to do something or you know facts in your head,
use your cabeza and use "conocer"
when you know people - most of the time.
Adiós , buena suerte.
