00:00 → 00:03

Pastor Dave

00:03 → 00:06

telling the children about a man who walked from CA to KY

00:06 → 00:09

on stilts!

00:09 → 00:13

On stilts? All the way from California to ...

00:13 → 00:16

Kentucky.

00:16 → 00:19

On stilts!

00:19 → 00:23

Yeah. That was a long way. Remember we talked about

00:23 → 00:26

skiers? And water skiers and snow skiers.

00:26 → 00:29

A lot of people like to be active and they like to

00:29 → 00:33

exercise and do a lot of things. In our Purple Bag

00:33 → 00:36

there's going to be something this morning that is necessary

00:36 → 00:39

for anyone who wants to be an athlete. And anybody who

00:39 → 00:42

wants to be a Champion for Jesus. Who would like to look

00:42 → 00:46

in the Purple Bag to see what we have this morning?

00:46 → 00:49

Let's let ... A. J. -----

00:49 → 00:52

Pastor handing over

00:52 → 00:56

the Purple Bag to A.J.

00:56 → 00:59

What is it, A.J. ?

00:59 → 01:02

A water bottle? It's a water bottle!

01:02 → 01:06

Why is water so important if we're gonna be

01:06 → 01:09

an athlete? If you're gonna be a champion?

01:09 → 01:12

Tegan? So you wanna be hydrated. What's so bad about

01:12 → 01:15

dehydrating?

01:15 → 01:19

I like raisins. They're dehydrated.

01:19 → 01:22

Right?

01:22 → 01:25

Caleb? Caleb says: If you dehydrated for

01:25 → 01:29

a few days then you'd die?

01:29 → 01:32

That's right! We need water

01:32 → 01:35

to live ... and when we exercise

01:35 → 01:39

and when we participate in sports, we sweat and

01:39 → 01:42

we get rid of a lot of our water from our bodies. So when

01:42 → 01:45

we get done we always have to drink some water.

01:45 → 01:48

That why it's a good thing even on a hot day, when you're

01:48 → 01:52

out in the sun, to make sure that you're drinking water.

01:52 → 01:55

Water brings us refreshment.

01:55 → 01:58

It's very good and it replenishes the things that we

01:58 → 02:02

need in our body. Today we're gonna talk about a time

02:02 → 02:05

when Jesus taught His disciples and the people and

02:05 → 02:08

brought them together to Himself

02:08 → 02:12

to replenish them.

02:12 → 02:15

He didn't use water,

02:15 → 02:18

but He used His Word. He wanted the people to find

02:18 → 02:21

some rest in Him, to hear His Word

02:21 → 02:25

so that they would be able to live

02:25 → 02:28

eternally in heaven with Him

02:28 → 02:31

live in the forgiveness of sins that He was going to

02:31 → 02:35

bring for them and live to the glory of God.

02:35 → 02:38

So today we're going to remind ourselves how important it is

02:38 → 02:41

to spend time with God, to spend time with our Lord in His

02:41 → 02:45

Word. It's just as important to us as drinking water.

02:45 → 02:48

Because we need that to keep our faith alive and to keep it

02:48 → 02:51

strong and to keep it healthy

02:51 → 02:54

so that we will remain Champions for Jesus

02:54 → 02:58

until He comes to take us home. So does anybody have any

02:58 → 03:01

questions, for this morning's devotion?

03:01 → 03:04

Nope? Then you guys can go back to your moms and dads

03:04 → 03:08

and we'll join together in our sermon hymn.
