Transcript for 8-23-09 Captioned Children's Message, Zion, Torrance, CA

Time Content
00:00 → 00:03

Pastor Dave Bostedt is greeted enthusiastically

00:03 → 00:06

by the children. Good Morning, Pastor.

00:06 → 00:09

How's everybody today? Good. Everybody's

00:09 → 00:13

smiling and looking all good so that's a good thing.

00:13 → 00:16

Who would like to look in The Purple Bag for this morning?

00:16 → 00:19

Children raise their hands and Pastor says: Let's ... let ...

00:19 → 00:23

Jenna, as he hands Jenna

00:23 → 00:26

The Purple Bag.

00:26 → 00:29

You know what that is, Jenna? Dirt.

00:29 → 00:33

Dirt! Dirt. Anything else ... in The Purple Bag

00:33 → 00:36

other than dirt? You know what else is in there

00:36 → 00:39

with the dirt? Not in The Purple Bag. Pastor made a

00:39 → 00:42

mistake. In the dirt bag. Is there anything else

00:42 → 00:46

in the dirt bag? (Yes) Oh yeah, there's a couple rocks.

00:46 → 00:49

Anything else? That big white thing

00:49 → 00:52

that you see in there. Do you know what that is?

00:52 → 00:56

This thing. If you turn it over you might.

00:56 → 00:59

Now do you know what it is? (Little rocks?)

00:59 → 01:02

Yeah, those are little rocks. That's right.

01:02 → 01:06

If you hold it up, can anyone tell Jenna what this

01:06 → 01:09

other big thing is?

01:09 → 01:12

A.J.? (Band-aid?) It's a band-aid. That's right!

01:12 → 01:15

You know what I call that? That little package

01:15 → 01:19

right there? That's my ...

01:19 → 01:22

dad's first-aid kit!

01:22 → 01:25

Okay? 'Cuz if we were out playing around and we got a

01:25 → 01:29

scrape, you know what he would say?

01:29 → 01:32

Rub some dirt on it. If it gets infected,

01:32 → 01:35

we'll put a band-aid on it later on.

01:35 → 01:39

So do you think that's good

01:39 → 01:42

advice that my dad had?

01:42 → 01:45

No, it was NOT good advice.

01:45 → 01:48

That's why today

01:48 → 01:52

we're going to learn that sometimes

01:52 → 01:55

when we hear what God has to say, we have to trust Him

01:55 → 01:58

because He's our heavenly Father and He's not gonna

01:58 → 02:02

give us bad advice.

02:02 → 02:05

He's not ever gonna tell us something that would hurt us,

02:05 → 02:08

or harm us. We might not understand it ... fully

02:08 → 02:12

because we can't see everything that God sees.

02:12 → 02:15

We don't know everything that God knows but what we want

02:15 → 02:18

to realize is that we will believe Him, and trust in Him

02:18 → 02:21

and that He will accomplish in us

02:21 → 02:25

ONLY good things, because He loves us and cares for us,

02:25 → 02:28

through His Son, Jesus. That's what we're gonna learn today.

02:28 → 02:31

Anybody have any questions?

02:31 → 02:35

No. Then you guys can go back to your moms and dads and

02:35 → 02:38

we'll join together in this morning's sermon hymn.
