Anne Rachel Inne, Niger So, my name, my language, my Internet. My name is Anne Rachel Inne and I am the Relations Manager of ICANN for Africa. My role is to make sure that ICANN observes and takes into account what goes on in Africa, and also, to explain here what are ICANN's preoccupations. One of the projects we work on at ICANN, are the "Internationalized domain names" which are new domain names that can be written in Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, etc. This means that we don't use the usual characters, the Latin characters. On the other hand, we also have the "New generic domain names" that can be written the way everybody is used to, which is in Latin characters, but are different from what we have presently. These are two very important areas that ICANN works on currently.
