Hello, my name is Steve Hawley. And I'm a candidate for re-election as Assemblyman in the 139th Assembly District.
For almost three years, I've have the privilege of representing you.
I'm a life-long resident of western New York, and was born and raised on our family farm.
For the past thirty years, I've owned and operated a property casualty insurance agency founded in 1867.
I have strong commitment to our community.
I've served on several boards, including the Genesee Valley BOCES,
Board of Education, the Genesee Empire Zone Board, the Board of Directors of the Genesee Center for Independent Living,
Genesee United Way, and a past president of the Genesee County Cooperative Extension and the Genesee County Farm Buearu.
I'm a 33-year member of the Batavia Rotary Club.
One of my main objections, as your Assemblyman, has been to lower taxes
have mandate relief and stop government from trying to be all things to all people.
We need to stop excessive spending and borrowing.
As a member of both the Assembly Minority Agriculture Task Force and Small Business Task Force
I've met with may business leaders in my Assembly district.
The hugh and cry was overwhelmingly get government out of our business and let us great jobs.
I was proud to lead a collaborative effort to have one-million dollars
return to the state-wide snowmobile and maintenance fund.
I also introduced legislation to prevent this type of grand larceny from ever happening again.
I'm very committed to working for and with my constituents.
This past June, I sponsored a local government conference, where local government officials
traveled with me to Albany to meet with representatives from various state agencies.
On September 5th, I sponsored a trip to WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans memorials in our nations capitol.
We visited these monuments, in and around Washington, dedicated to their service.
This year alone, I hosted ten town meetings in my district.
It has been, and continues to be, an honor representing you, the people.
