She likes to show off gorgeous holidays pictures and marvel at her friend’s latest spend video. Facebook allows a sort of quickly mobilize huge support to advanced common cost, and on the Facebook Zoe can equal east them out the crowd. Facebook can turn Zoe into farmer, a pilot and a CEO. Zoe enjoys pondering quietly over a friend’s discussion and she loves to comfortably organize he next big party. The most awsome thing though is that Zoe can stay in touch with buddies no matter where they are. Zoe wanted to know more about this generous and innovative company Facebook. But Zoe and her friends were shocked when they find out that Facebook is bad. Zoe find out that Facebook is free because she and her friends are paying with a precious currency: their privacy. Don’t you hate Facebook for informing intelligence agencies about you joining a demonstration? Don’t you mind Facebook’s browser cookies to track every website you visit and sell that data to just about anybody who pays them? Isn’t it disturbing that Facebook might inform the police if your records raise suspicions? Don’t you hate to see Google listing your party pictures and status updates? And no trouble into know that dictators use fake accounts to gather information on dissidence? Why on earth thus Facebook copy your address book, including your confidential notes? What if a radical group gets access to all the data on Facebook servers? It’s personal information of more than 800 million people. Let’s be honest: your Facebook membership is a goldmine for a company that betrays you day by day, no matter if you use an alias, fake e-mail, if you rarely update pictures and ever use the like button. Zuckenberg and friends know how to deal with you. What Facebook gives to us is nothing compared to what we give to Facebook . But Zoe is sure that we all know that. It’s just that there is no alternative. Hey wakes up! There is an alternative! It’s called Diaspora. Let’s meet Zoe’s friend Phin. Phin is a digital native. He joined the group of people from around the world who love that freedom. Their open source project aims at designing a ground breaking new social network: Diaspora. Phin told Zoe that Diaspora has all the features that we love about social networks: personal profiles, groups, apps, mobile interface, mentions, ash texts, re-sharing , and on top, there is social network’s integration. So Zoe doesn’t even have to leave any of her current networks. So what so special about Diaspora? Diaspora is revolutionary because it puts you , the user, back in control. The idea is a distributed network of so called "pods". You can put on your own servers or use an existing pod, like Phin’s. Diaspora’s software is free and meets the highest security standards. This design means that there will never be any person or company owning Diaspora. Nobody can sell your social lives. You don’t have to fear anybody spying you . You are in control of everything. So, this is Diaspora, by the people, for the people. Zoe was so excited that she signed up for Diaspora. Get ready for the next online revolution. Reclaim your freedom.
