We ran into this little guy on our tour through the outback.

He's called an Echidna, a small mamal covered in coarse hair and spines, kind of like a porcupine or a hedgehog.

They resemble the anteater with their long nose or "snout". Their snout doubles as their nose and mouth.

They have very short but tough limbs with big claws, which makes them such powerful diggers.

They get their food by tearing open soft logs, ant hills and other things like that. They use their long sticky tongues that come out their long snout.
