Day 24 started in the biggest holiday park in the Southern Hemisphere. We had a coffee + cookie in Nelson, a picnic in Picton and took the ferry back to Wellington.
On day 23 we picked some blackberries and checked out an old gold mining town, Ernest Rutherford's birthplace and Nelson - one of the sunniest places in New Zealand.
Day 22 was the perfect day to drive up the West Coast. We went to a market in Hokitika, had a sound bath, drove around the clock, saw the Pancake Rocks, lots of Weka in Westport and finished the day with a beautiful sunset by the Cape Foulwind lighthouse.
On day 20 we saw several lakes, a big hand, a cute pony and a beautiful moon. If you love playing in the snow/outdoors, Wanaka would be a great place to study English.
Day 19 was a lovely day in Queenstown. We met Gordon Laing from Camera Labs and Carla Assem De Nijs from Queenstown Lakeview Holiday Park. On the way to Wanaka we watched people bungy jumping at the Kawarau Bridge Bungy.
On day 18 we ran into the Six Surf Lifeguards in Te Anau. We also saw an interesting bike and a big bird. On the way to Arrowtown we stopped at an art gallery, a vegetable shop, a train station, a petrol station and New Zealand's longest lake.
On Day 17 we saw the famous yellow sign at the end/start of State Highway 1. We met the founder of the Invercargill Vegan Society and saw the largest lake in the South Island.
On day 16 it rained for most of the day. In the morning we hung out at the Whistling Frog Café, then we drove to Bluff - the southernmost town in New Zealand.
On day 14 we saw a beautiful sunrise, walked up the world's steepest residential street, visited the house where I was born ... and went to the dentist.
