People in Tehran Marching on Vali Asr Street in protest of the presidential elections in which Ahmadinejad won by what Iranians believe to be a rigged election. Mir Hossein Mousavi is seen as the real winner, for which people are protesting in favor of.
A propaganda documentary produced by national broadcasting company of Iran (Seda-Sima) , which revolves around underground communities and music bands. Hardrock, heavey metal and rap are of those genres which are being exposed as "Satanic" in this series. Different experts attempt to picture fans and followers of such music genres as "confused" and as the ones with low selfesteem and also drug victims.
The way in which interviews are done suggest that this series lacks great deals of scientific and social research. One of the main themes being discussed in second part is social norms. No concrete definition of these norms and moral values is being suggested through this episode and makes it difficult to understand why and how are they challenged.
Director Hamid Najafirad openly interviews heavy metal singers in Iran about their passion for Metal music and what about life in Iran led them to the underground scene.
Najafirad spent two years investigating the life and dreams of Iran’s underground heavy metal singers. SILENT SCREECH is a sneak peak of the longer film “7th Phase” which follows the dark and rebellious life of a young underground heavy metal lead singer. “7th Phase” is currently seeking international distribution.
