Headquarters of the Universal Esperanto Association
The dutch city Rotterdam is a place that every active Esperanto speaker knows,
that there is the headquarters of the Universal Esperanto Association.
Let's enter and visit the office.
Right at the entrance, we see the bookstore.
The bookstore has around 3,000 items,
and also has discs, cassettes and many other Esperanto items.
Let's go visit other rooms!
Closest to the entrance is the room
of the Director General of UEA (Universal Esperanto Association).
So, here is the only room in UEA's office,
in which one officially smokes,
because I am the only serious smoker here.
But maybe it's interesting
to say like other room
also this one is constantly open;
so all employees can walk in whenever
and ask or annoy or something similar.
Also, 12 people work in the headquarters.
That maybe seems to you too many,
but effectively that is
too few
by the work which is done here, and that's why
many of us work a minimum of ten, if not more, hours per day
I'm taking the place of the secretary here
and I receive letters, carry packages ...
answer the telephone and so on.
I generally go around the office, making coffee for example.
but every week the work is different,
for example this week I'm making the archive
maybe later I'll send magazines and pack [the magazine] Esperanto.
But my tasks vary from day to day.
