The UNPFII 7th session,

Climate Change

We're up here at the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues at the United Nations

and we've come from our respective nations from all over the world

seeking to advocate for issues, concerns in our communities throughout the world.

The most important effect on the environment in my area is last year

there was an avalanche of a glacier which has ruined one of the villages in my area

In this UN Permanent Forum, the first agenda was the issue of climate change

The climate change according to us, the Indigenous people, is the increase of temperature.

which is due to the pollution of an environment, and also destroying of forest and natural habitat,

which has been providing a good environment for every human being to live in.

As we know as indigenous people forests are suffering, and these is increased food shortages

and there is an outbreak of diseases like cholera, malaria and meningitis because the climate has changed

This impact has caused now the life of the indigenous people to be very hard

because we do not have access to the herbal medicine.

Without the indigenous people, the climate change will worsen, and it will destroy everybody in the world.
