Régine Zamor who blogs at http://bagaydwol.wordpress.com/ says she bypassed established NGO waitlists to come volunteer in Haiti using existing contacts. Since her arrival, she has provided services in food and medical supplies distribution and served as what she calls a middle person between friends who wanted to volunteer in the U.S. and smaller NGOs in Haiti. The night I met her, she was recruiting newly arrived doctors at Oloffson to come serve at a clinic rotating through Cité Solèy the following morning.
