My name is Jean-Paul Samputu.
I am a singer and songwriter.
During the Rwandan Genocide in 1994
I lost my parents, three brothers, and a sister.
It took me nine years, dealing with anger
hatred, and alcohol addiction.
I got healed in 2003 because
I decided to forgive those who killed my parents.
The power of forgiveness helped me
Live via the Internet
to overcome pain, suffering, and the spirit of revenge.
This is a call of action to everyone
to use this power to change this world.
This world is affected with violence, genocide, war.
Jali Gardens, Kigali, Rwanda
We need to build a better future for our children, the hope of tomorrow.
Forgiveness is a weapon, a weapon against violence.
Forgiveness is the most powerful weapon against terrorism and atrocity.
Thank you. God bless you.
