My name is Rama and we’re talking today about traditional medicine
Because the traditional healer is one of us in the community.
His services are affordable and available.
I treat the person traditionally
and if God wills, the person gets healed
and doesn’t even need to go to the hospital.
If someone has a snake bite
and the hospital is very far
the person can use traditional herbs and get well.
There is an herb called mwadiga.
It’s a flowering herb.
It is used to treat snake bite.
It is mixed with another herb which is very bitter
and also with roots from the orange tree.
There is also an herb called mlozi which has thorns, mainly used by Durumas,
but where I come from, we call it mtega kelele.
There is also a plant that you must already know, tobacco.
The leaves of the tobacco plant are used
to treat snake bites.
They can even kill snakes.
You can even test it out –
Carry some leaves with you in case you meet a snake, and see what happens.
Just place the leaves in the mouth of the snake and it will die.
If you are afraid, and a snake bites you, you must look for a traditional healer.
Do some research and you will see.
Even processed tobacco will work.
I assure you the results will still be the same – the snake will die.
It is similar to the mwadiga herb, the flowering one.
It doesn’t appear to be a plant because it doesn’t have roots,
but if you plant it it grows and the flowers are red.
