|---|---|
| 00:09 → 00:13 |
Mr. Winkle awoke from his hundred years slumber |
| 00:13 → 00:15 |
to find the world had changed |
| 00:15 → 00:19 |
Sleepy, he made his way to a tall building |
| 00:19 → 00:21 |
filled with busy people and strange sounds |
| 00:21 → 00:23 |
he had never heard before. |
| 00:24 → 00:28 |
Machines printed out pictures and documents |
| 00:28 → 00:29 |
instantly on paper. |
| 00:29 → 00:32 |
Business people spoke to other business people |
| 00:32 → 00:34 |
halfway across the world |
| 00:34 → 00:39 |
and saw each other too on small screens on their desks. |
| 00:39 → 00:41 |
It was too much change for Mr. Winkle; |
| 00:41 → 00:43 |
he had to get out of there. |
| 00:44 → 00:48 |
He was feeling sick and so he went to a hospital. |
| 00:48 → 00:53 |
Inside he saw men and women kept alive by machines. |
| 00:53 → 00:56 |
which breathed life into their lungs |
| 00:56 → 01:00 |
Lasers and x-rays were used in surgeries. |
| 01:00 → 01:03 |
Mr. Winkle had never thought were even possible |
| 01:03 → 01:07 |
this hospital wasn't going to make him feel better. |
| 01:07 → 01:10 |
He made his way out onto the street |
| 01:10 → 01:12 |
unsure of where to go. |
| 01:14 → 01:16 |
until he felt like he could walk no longer. |
| 01:17 → 01:20 |
Up ahead he saw a school |
| 01:20 → 01:22 |
He walked inside. |
| 01:22 → 01:24 |
It was instantly familiar. |
| 01:24 → 01:27 |
Students sat in neat rows |
| 01:27 → 01:29 |
while the teacher in front of the room lectured them |
| 01:29 → 01:33 |
all day long on reading, writing and arithmetic, |
| 01:33 → 01:35 |
while the students took notes |
| 01:35 → 01:37 |
on what their teacher said |
| 01:37 → 01:39 |
This went on all day. |
| 01:43 → 01:45 |
Mr. Winkle liked school |
| 01:45 → 01:46 |
Whoa |
| 01:46 → 01:49 |
There was one of those strange machines though in the back of the room |
| 01:49 → 01:52 |
the same kind that Mr. Winkle had seen |
| 01:52 → 01:54 |
in the hospital and in the office building |
| 01:54 → 01:58 |
but it was dusty and it wasn't being used |
| 01:58 → 02:02 |
This was school just as Mr. Winkle remembered it |
| 02:02 → 02:06 |
It was comforting to know that even after one hundred years, |
| 02:06 → 02:10 |
some things still remained the same. |
