Fatwas seem to do the opposite of what they are intended to do. Rushdie is famous, one of the Muhammad cartoons was used in the film "Fitna", and, the big stink about a Teddy Bear named Muhammed, created the "CAIR Bears", featuring all kinds of teddy bears showing Islam in a bad light, so, why are there fatwas? Maybe a Muslim can set me straight.
