Week 2, Education/Psychology 7670, Literature Reviews, Spring 2008

This is a two credit hour course but we only meet for one hour a week.
We may occasionally spill over just a little bit, but I will try not to.
What that really means is that you should be spending a lot of time outside of class.
I mean, last week I don't suspect it was too heavy outside of class.
The reason it was scheduled that way is that there is a lot of writing
that goes into putting together a review of the lit, which is your final paper.
As the weeks go on now that will start being heavier and heavier.
It will be easy to get behind on it, so I encourage you not to get behind
because then the end of the semaster
becomes really messy or you turn in a product that you are really not very happy with.
so keep that in mind that even though we're just meeting for an hour
you should be expecting to spend probably 4, 5, or 6 hours a week outside of class
gathering materials and writing drafts and things.
Let's talk first about threats to internal validity.
We won't take time to go through all of them, but if there are
particularly ones you are puzzled about, we can talk about it for a few minutes
and then I will correct them and hand them back and that may raise some more questions in your minds.
