Welcome to Dublin, Ireland!
When here, you are of course going to meet some Irish people!
We say that "a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet!"
so, go on and chat with us!
Of course, everyone speaks English, but did you know
that Irish (Gaeilge) is the official language of Ireland?
You'll have a great experience here if you speak some Irish!
You will see bilingual signs all over the country
but to hear it every day, why not go to the beautiful Gaeltacht!
Even if you only speak a little, we'll be happy to hear it and give you a hand!
The phonetics are different, but you'll be able to read it quickly!
The language flows beautifully *because* of the differences that seem hard at first.
Give these sentences a try!
How are you?
Well and you?
Cheers!
Bye!
Even if you aren't in Ireland, you can learn the language on the Internet
and there are lots of resources online that can help.
If you have a few words, why not update your Facebook or Twitter status "as Gaeilge"?
For example, I could write...
I was in Dublin today!
If you take advantage of any time you have, and study a bit each day
you'll be speaking in no time!
So, what are you waiting for?
We hope to see you soon!
Bye and good luck!
