My name is Samira from Mwaluphamba.
I’m speaking out for people with disabilities
because they have the same rights as everyone else.
I was born without any disability, but I became disabled.
Even with my disability, I am striving to sustain myself.
I got some government support in the form of a sewing maching.
I used it for tailoring and managed to buy myself goats and a house.
I’ve even managed to buy cows.
Now I have a wife and 2 children
Who have accepted me just how I am.
They don’t look at me as if I’m any different.
I also take responsibility for myself
Because you can only get as much help as you give yourself.
We should not let people have pity on us. You disrespect yourself.
The goats, the cows I have… they are all from my own labor.
You have to be active and work hard.
People like that.
The community needs to accept people with disability.Because helping each other is the most important thing.
