COPRA Copra – is a film that was made by students From Mwaluphamba Secondary School, focusing on the importance and benefits of Copra It’s been 3 years since I started this work. I buy produce from farmers. The produce is Copra. I also buy coconuts which I weigh. I encounter a lot of problems with transporting the produce to the markets I would like to request and call on farmers to dialogue and agree on the price that I get from the brokers. Because if I buy a kilo for ten shillings, The brokers buy from me at fifteen shillings. Because of the transportation cost, I get nothing. I also face other challenges. When I buy 3 bags of coconuts I might have them for three weeks. The weight reduces by about a kilo. If they had weighed like a kilo. So for 200 kilos I may end up with only 160, a loss of 40 kilos This is a great loss to me. I would like to have a facility where other farmers and I could take our produce to sell.
