Amb les seleccions podem actuar sobre regions de la imatge. Resulten eines bàsiques per a l'edició. Aquí trobem un exemple que vol extreure una figura del seu fons per a crear un arxiu nou. Per a fer-ho combinem l'ús de dues eines de selcció i les seves opcions o modificadors.
