- Greetings in Jesus Name.
- Alleluia!
- What a wonderful night, isn't it?
- God has already spoken to us in a mighty way.
- You may be seated.
- I want to thank God,
- for one more opportunity,
- 2nd Bible conference of Word of Life Church,
- and I had the privilege to attend the first one
- and I saw how great it was.
- and all this excites us for this one.
- because our God works progressively, doesn't He?
- and this 2nd conference
- will leave a deeper mark in your life,
- than the first one did.
- I want to thank my dear friend, pastor Helio Ferreira,
- He is a great friend that God placed in my life a few years ago
- and his support, his help and his companionship,
- are making the difference in my life and ministry.
- As for me, it is a pleasure, though it's a great responsibility,
- to minister a long these two men:
- pastor Moses Mendes,
- a long time friend,
- whom I had the opportunity to minister in other conferences with.
- And pastor Abraão de Almeida,
- who is a yardstick
- for new preachers.
- A Brazilian pentecostal pastor that never read one of his books, is very hard to find.
- So, we are talking about a man who influenced an entire generation
- and it makes us happy.
- Also, it is good to see other friends, pastor Celio Silva,
- my friend and my Brother, also a teacher of the Word.
- Also pastor Marcone my dear friend.
- Finally, there is a group of people here
- from Full Revival Church in Everett.
- I wanna ask these people to stand up,
- they came to support this conference
- and help me.
- So, these are the Brothers and Sisters that came Full Revival Church. Thank you.
- Others will come tomorrow to join us. God bless you.
- Glory to God.
- Let's go then to the Word of God.
- We'll read two passages,
- I'll give you enough time to open both of them so I can read them quickly.
- the first one is 2 Samuel 6.
- open it and wait.
- 2 Samuel chapter 6.
- And the 2nd text is 1 Chronicles 13.
- They are matching texts
- and in Chronicles we are looking for some singularities.
- The theme of my teaching is "When the glory is on the move."
- The name of this conference:
- "Aproved Workman"
- is a confortable name.
- It's an open theme,
- which allow us to deal with a great variety of possibilities in God's Word.
- I'll try to minister from a certain point of view in these 3 speeches,
- by showing that the fire proof
- for a minister to be aproved in God's kingdom is to learn how to deal with God's glory.
- So we will introduce this subject tonight,
- in these 50 minutes we have,
- and, then, tomorrow and Sunday morning.
- Praise God. Those who have 2 Samuel 6,
- say thank you God.
- Then, I'm the only one who are still searching.
- Laughter
- Wonderful.
- Verse 1
- "Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand."
- "And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God,
- whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims."
- "And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah:
- and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart."
- "And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark."
- "And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of
- fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals."
- "And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it."
- "And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error;
- and there he died by the ark of God."
- "And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah:
- and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day."
- "And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?"
- "So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite."
- "And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household."
- Praise the Lord.
- Now 1 Chronicles 13
- verse 3.
- "And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we inquired not at it in the days of Saul."
- verse 4.
- "And all the congregation said that they would do so: for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people."
- Say with me "of all the people."
- Verse 7
- "And they carried the ark of God in a new cart out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drave the cart."
- Verse 10
- "And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza, and he smote him, because he put his hand to the ark: and there he died before God."
- "And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza: wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day."
- "And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?"
- "So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite."
- Say glory to God.
- Wonderful!
- We just read two matching texts of the same story,
- a story known by those who read the Bible,
- which shows us a very interesting e curious situation,
- that we'll try to explorer from now until Sunday,
- always showing an angle that we couldn't see before,
- that's related to the proposed theme "When The Glory is On The Move."
- I'm gonna read something as an introduction.
- One of the most strong lessons a worker needs to learn in order to be aproved
- is how to relate to God Himself and with the manifestation of His glory.
- It is so common to see people longing for a place in ministry
- without having a clear vision of God.
- Many know how to deal with what is around God,
- pay attention to this.
- There are many people who know very well how to relate with things around God without never dealing with Himself directly.
- By the way, this is the wrong concept of religion.
- The right concept of religion is healthy.
- But the wrong concept of religion is exactly this,
- people who get involved with an idea, a project,
- but never get involved with God Himself.
- They never relate with the Person:
- God Himself.
- And, the most sacred definition in theology is the one about God:
- "God is a personal Spirit,
- perfectly good who creates, upholds and guides everything in perfect love."
- Say with me: God is not a system.
- God is not an idea.
- God is not a project.
- God is not a religion.
- Say with me: GOD IS A PERSON!
- From this perspective that God is a person,
- we need to review our concept of relationship with Him.
- How we got involved with God as we work in His work.
- In times of crisis and spiritual scarcity,
- the cry of the Church for a manifestation
- of God's glory and power increases.
- So He will change the luck of His people and bring a powerful revival upon the Church around the earth.
- Is it true or not?
- The Church is crying out for this,
- A powerful revival happens when the glory of God moves from its place of rest.
- The move of God is not an end in itself.
- What have I said?
- "The move of God is not an end in itself."
- It is a mean to take us to our greater goal:
- A deep intimacy with the owner of the glory,
- GOD!
- It is very comon to see people, even leaders,
- to get distracted by the effects that God's glory produces,
- and take God out of their focus.
- Then I believe that, because we need so much a move of God in the Church,
- one of the first things we need, as leaders, is to understand how the glory of God operates,
- and how we should deal with the owner thereof.
- If we sumarize the story of the past revivals,
- we'll find two things that happened generally:
- First, "Every revival is unique."
- Each revival in history had its sigularity.
- God manifested Himself, throughout history,
- specifically.
- As a matter of fact, God always respected every culture and every generation.
- This is why He had His singularities for a specific revival, in a specific time for a specific generation.
- The second thing we find out
- is that every revival came and went away.
- So, first: every revival is unique.
- Every revival had its singulatity.
- We have no time to talk about each singulatiry of each revival,
- because I can't stop here, I need to get to my point.
- And, second, all revivals that happened in the past are gone. It's not by chance that "history" is called history.
- For example: the first great revival in Church history is described in Acts chapter 2.
- It was wonderful, amazing, beautiful, brought many fruits,
- it was genuine, it's written in the Bible, but it's gone.
- One day that revival vanished.
- In fewer than three generation...
- Because it is known that at the end of the 2nd generation, about 80 years later,
- there were no signs of that revival that happened in the Day of Pentecost anymore.
- The third generation that lived about 120 years after
- of what happened in the Day of Pentecost,
- didn't see even a trace of that powerful revival that is registered in Acts 2.
- Another example, is one of the most powerful revival of our time,
- is what happened in 1906, at Azusa St, in California, starting with a family.
- This revival spread around and reached the whole church.
- This revival birthed the biggest pentecostal churches and the biggest evangelistic ministries of Church history.
- The Assembly of God church is a result of this revival.
- The Church of God is a result of this revival.
- Later on came the Church Of God of Prophecy,
- not mentioning the new churches that came out of these, which are indirectly fruit of that revival,
- because of the influence of these pentecostal churches.
- It was beautiful, powerful and glorious, but it's gone!
- A few years ago everybody were caught by surprise with a great revival that happened in Pensacola, FL.
- About 550 thousand people, in 8 years, visited a church that can only hold 3500 people at once.
- Pensacola holds the record of packing up a church,
- 3500 seats taken in 3:1/2 minutes.
- It's because people waited in line from 7:00am to 7:00pm,
- when the doors were open so they could get in.
- And this day, that is registered as the record of packing up a church building with some thosands of seats,
- when the doors were open, people ran in desperately, in order to take the best seats.
- In only 3:1/2 minutes all seats were taken by people on that day.
- This is tremendous, it's glorious, I've been there later on, when it was less intense
- but, say with me: it's gone.
- Then, here come some issues.
- Because we, ministers, men of God...
- In Bible conferences I always keep in mind that I'm preaching to leaders
- leaders of today or leaders in potencial,
- men and women who will be leading churches, mission ministry,
- evangelistic ministry, or any other kind,
- or maybe supporting their leaders
- I'm speaking to portencial leaders.
- Maybe, the most comon mistake we leaders commit,
- according to what I found out in my research,
- it is that, subtly, people deviated from God throughout history, by getting distracted by what He was doing.
- "pastor Netto, aren't these thing the same?
- No, they are not the same!
- I could go to paint one's house
- So I would get there with big ladders and stuff, to get the job done.
- After all one could say "it's amazing, very good job, you are the best painter ever"
- but, maybe, never offer me a cup of water,
- a coffee, a lunch or nothing alse.
- At the end of the day, I'd leave one's house full of praise for what I'd have done, but myself would get nothing.
- in some cases not even the payment I would receive.
- because, maybe, one was so shocked with what I did that he forgot me.
- He forgot to pay attention to whom was doing the job.
- do you understand me?
- So the move of God's glory produces what we call revival.
- Personaly, I want to name it "the move of the Holy Spirit"
- and, tomorrow, you will understand why.
- "the move of the Holy Spirit"
- I have many reasons for this. The main one is that
- the word revival is misused nowadays.
- This word has been exhaustively explored lately,
- and in some minds the effect of this word is not even healthy.
- for reasons like that I'll say "the move of the Holy Spirit."
- The move of the Spirit, according to Sriptures,
- is probably better typified in the way God dealt with the Ark of Covenant.
- It must be said that a biblical "type" is never whole, because it's a shadow of something.
- The Ark of Covenant typifies very well this manifestation of God's glory among men.
- This is because the Mercy Seat was the only place on earth
- where the manifestation of God's glory was seen so clearly by all.
- Now, pay attention to what I just said.
- Look at how big the planet earth is.
- Look at the size of this planet.
- Now, look at the size of the Ark of Covenant itself.
- It was no more than 6.56 feet long and 3.28 feet wide.
- It was a small item, a bit bigger that this pulpit and much lower.
- Listen to me! In a planet as big as earth,
- the only place where the presence of God was systematically manifested, was upon the Ark. Don't forget that God's omnipresence is another thing.
- I'm talking about the manisfested presence of God.
- That's the presence that shows up, and can be seen, some times, and felt always.
- This kind of presence produces extraordinary effects,
- and some of them are natural effects.
- Because every time the glory of God was minifested in the Old Testament,
- it produced some disturbances in earth atmosphere,
- and this is not so difficult to understand.
- When we analyse, for example,
- how the planet earth is structured,
- how its layers are subdivided,
- and how its atmosphere works,
- the kind of knowledge that is comon to us today, thanks to our attomic understanding.
- Scientists know how attoms behave and how they react to some happenings.
- There are some natural phenomena that can cause disturbances in the earth atmosphere.
- For example: Solar storms.
- This is one of the things sciantists study the most, because they found out a few decades ago
- how dangerous a solar storm can be for planet earth.
- Those solar flares, which look so unharmful on tv, are in reality huge and harmful.
- In cosmic measurements, those solar flares are gigantic. The sun throws fire millions of miles in space.
- Following the visible flares comes the solar radiation, which is invisible.
- And part of this radiation penetrates earth protection shield, which deflects most of it, but not all.
- So, what happens when a major solar storm comes to pass?
- Satelite comunication can be seriously demanged.
- TV transmission can be affected.
- It happens all the time. We don't that know because this is not daily news.
- Scientists are getting ready for a big solar storm to hit earth, and they are working hard to assuage its consequences.
- And this can happen at any moment.
- They are getting ready for this,
- Because a major solar storm could easily knockdown the majority of those 15.000 satelites orbiting the planet now.
- As I said, such event would knockdown satelite comunication, TV signals, radio signals. It would be catastrophic.
- Some kinds of storms here on earth are another kind of natural phenomena that can alter conditions on the planet.
- Why am I giving you this kind of information?
- Because I find curious that every time the glory of god was manifested in the Old Testament,
- it was followed by similar phenomena.
- I'll give one example, at least: The happening at Mount Sinai.
- Maybe the most impacting of all.
- Moses climbed the moutain and stayed in the presence of God,
- and the glory o God came so strongly that Moses was swallowed by its cloud, which appeared on the mountain.
- Moses was swallowed by the glory's cloud and stayed there for fourty days and fourty nights
- without being hungry nor thirsty, supernaturally fed by God's glory.
- Now pay attention to this:
- For Moses, whom was inside of it,
- it was God's glory, divine fire, God's finger writing on stones and shaping it.
- However, for the people whom were outside,
- it was thunder, lightning, wind storm and earthquake.
- Then, what I realize,
- is that the vision of God's glory,
- the vision of the manifestation of God's presence,
- is different when we are inside and when we are outside of it.
- For those, whom are inside, they are the wonders of God's manifestation.
- Because you don't know where I'm going, keep this in your heart.
- For those whom are inside, they are the wonders of God.
- I mean everything we can imagine the move of God can produce.
- joy, happiness, satisfaction, speaking in tongues, baptism in the Holy Spirit,
- and all these pentecostal phenomena, which we love and desire in our midst.
- But, when one is outside of it,
- the vision is totally different.
- I'll give the second example, so I can move on.
- I need to make sure you'll understand this revelation.
- Let's look at the Day of Pentecost.
- That day was the day - this is what I believe - when the glory of God,
- the presence of God, the manifestation of His Spirit,
- was manifested on earth, in the Church era, in the most impacting way.
- I believe that the final revival, which will prepare the earth for the final harvest, will be stronger.
- But, so far, that was the greatest move of God that ever happened on earth. It's in Acts chapter 2.
- Now, there are two different versions of the same event:
- The version of those whom were inside of the house,
- Which version is it?
- "suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
- And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
- And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
- This is someone sharing the event from inside.
- Then, came someone else and said: "no, that's not true, I saw everything"
- "I was outside and I saw everything."
- "These men are full of new wine." "they are all drunk."
- "Yes, it was a bit windy, but it doesn't mean it was supernatural. These people are crazy."
- Say with me: the vision of who is outside,
- is distorted.
- from what God is really doing.
- Hummmm
- Then, we've reached a crucial point,
- where we can conclude the following:
- Every time God starts something among His people here in this church, Word of Life Church,
- when He starts doing something new here,
- people who murmur, criticize and reject it,
- are exactly those who are watching from outside.
- This is because they will never understand what God does if they keep looking from outside.
- They will always have a distorted vision of the monifestation of God's arm.
- However, as a compensation,
- you can find, in the same church, people very excited...
- "wow, this is wonderful, what a service. Pastor Helio I feel the glory. My God, I thought I was getting raptured!"
- Meanwhile some one is saying: "I don't know, I don't think all this is really necessary. I'm not feeling anything."
- "I don't think it's necessary to speak in tongues like this,
- shaking his legs like this, it's an exageration."
- Two different versions of the same event.
- It's because someone is watching from inside,
- while someone else is watching from outside.
- Ask your neighbour: which one are you?
- (Can someone get me a handkerchief, please?)
- Amem.
- Let me try to give you now...
- (Thank you very much.)
- Let me give you now two concepts of the manifestation of God's glory,
- to lay a foundation for tomorrow's teaching.
- These are the two definitions of the glory of God.
- You have part of it on your handout.
- Today I will desagree with a dear American Brother, who I respect a lot.
- He teaches that the glory of God is only the presence of God.
- It's true, but it's not the whole truth.
- First definition: "The glory of God is the influence of the greatness and the works of God."
- Uuuuuu!
- God's so great that His greatness shines His glory throughout the universe.
- In this case, He doesn't need to manifest His presence in a specific place to make His glory felt.
- A good example of this is the aroma of a parfume.
- Even after a person leaves the room,
- the aroma of his perfume can still be sensed in the place.
- When we go into a place, we are able to sense that someone was there,
- because of his aroma that remains there for while,
- but owner of the aroma is not there anymore.
- Another example of this kind of glory is the honor that someone recieves for doing something important.
- Such as: great conquerors, people who did heroic deeds,
- mega movie stars, TV stars, Music stars and so on...
- Allow me to give you a pratical example.
- Tomorrow there will be a soccer game between Brazil X Argentina.
- Let's suppose we'll be seating on a couch watching this game.
- In a certain moment Kaka scores a goal,
- a beautiful goal, Brazil 1 X 0 Argentina.
- I know I wouldn't do anything because I'm a Christian (lol), but you would screem like crazy.
- I know you'd screem like crazy, Haaaaaa! Brazi, Kaka and so on...
- At that moment, Kaka would be receiving a kind of glory,
- which is the glory related to the greatmess of what he does.
- He doesn't need to be in your living room.
- He can be far away from there.
- People open NGOs using his image and his name,
- because what he does pleases people, and it brings him a type of glory.
- So, it's not an inherent glory, because Kaka wasn't born with this glory.
- He acquired this glory when the world found out that he plays soccer the way he does.
- I'll give you another example.
- Michael Jackson past away a few weeks ago.
- but his albums are selling more than ever, more than everybody else's.
- His albums are selling more than Elvis Presley's, Beatles' and etc...
- People a buying them more than when he was still alive.
- He is gone, he is not here anymore, but he built a human glory.
- It's earthly but it's reflected by the greatness of what he did in the past.
- How many of you understand that? say amem!
- So, look at this.
- Hebrew language has a few words translated as "glory."
- (I don't know if you have this in your handout. The one that I have is different)
- So. here are some of these words: Tiph'arah (1 Chr. 29:11).
- These references are only examples, these words appear many times in the Text.
- Tiph'arah, for example, appears 51 times in the Old Testament.
- So, 1 Chr. 29:11 is just an example. It's also seen in the book of Proverbs.
- Tiph'arah stands for a glory that was conquered,
- a glory that comes as a result of a great deed.
- A few years ago, for example, a guy saw a man having a seizure attack at New York subway,
- He is a regular guy from the Bronx, NY.
- Actually, he is from Queens, sorry.
- So the other guy who had a seizure, fell on the train tracks.
- When the man saw that the train was coming,
- he jumped upon the poor guy to keep him low so the train wouldn't hit him. It worked!
- When the train passed by, the two of them were alive.
- So he was able to keep the train from smashing his kind.
- Two months later, that man was at Capital Hill in Washington.
- attending a meeting with the President, Senadors and Representatives, to receive a Medal of Honor.
- The President praised him by saying that all Americans should do the same to their kind.
- That man was enjoying a kind of glory , which is not inherent,
- it's a glory that he conquered with an extraodinary deed.
- Because Portuguese is a limited language, compared to these ancient languages,
- we don't have several words to express different levels of the same thing.
- When I speak about "glory" I just have one word in portugese: GLORY.
- But Hebrew language has many words for "glory" and each one of them has it's onwn level of meaning.
- So, the second word is TSEBE, (2 Sam. 1:19),
- the third is QEREN (Job 16:15),
- the fourth is RODE (Psa. 8:1 & 111:3),
- the fifth is GAOWN (Amos, 8:7),
- and, in Aramaic, the word ADAR (Psa. 111:3),
- and the word YAQAR, very comon in the book of Daniel.
- Now, pay attention to what I'm going to explain you.
- The second definition of God's glory,
- is exactly, the presence of God, the manifestation of God's presence itself.
- This glory wasn't conquered by God becasue it's inherent to Him.
- The first glory that I mentioned is the glory of His deed.
- Example: "The heavens declare the glory of God;" (Psa. 19:1).
- If God had never created the heavens,
- this glory would never return to Him, because there would be no heavens to proclaim it.
- Do you get it?
- Then, we are talking about the glory "Tiph'arah, Tsebe, Qeren" etc... Glories that comes from creating and conquering.
- He is the Lord of hosts, the Lord of battles.
- These are Bible expressions that give glory to God for what He's done.
- How many of you give glory to God for creating you, saving you, and doing amazing works in your life?
- This kind of glory we give to God is also known as praise.
- We praise God for what He's done, a powerful act, something glorious etc...
- By the way, this is the difference between praise and worship.
- We preaise Him for what He did, do and will do in our lives.
- But, we worship Him for who He is.
- Say glory to God.
- So, the second definition is the presence of God itself.
- This is the glory that is inherent to a being.
- When God is present...
- (You can see a piece of the text in English,
- I apologize, because I did this text originally in English
- and then translated into portuguese)
- When God is present,
- His glory will be sensed.
- His manisfestation in any place
- will always stir up the enviroment
- and will produce two different effects:
- blessings and judgement,
- and I already explained you that.
- It's blessings for who is in
- and judgement for who is out.
- It's a blessings for who loves him,
- and lives according to His principles,
- and judgement for who despises or provokes Him.
- Then, we have the most used word in the Old Testament,
- about 200 times: It's "Kabowd."
- Say with me "Kabowd",
- one more time, "Kabowd."
- So, you saw all the words here,
- and here comes the word "Kabowd."
- The difference of "Kabowd",
- though these word can be interchangable,
- is that Kabowd is a kind of glory that is inhenerent to the being.
- I'll give you an example:
- The queen of England
- doesn't need to do anything to get the glory she got as queen of England.
- She will always have that glory as queen of England.
- She doesn't do anything,
- politics is up to the Prime Minister and the British Parliament.
- But she was born a princes and became the queen.
- Where she goes, she is the queen of England.
- When she dies, prince Charles will become the king.
- He already have a glory that is inherent to him.
- the heir of the throne of Japan was borne,
- I dont'know who saw that.
- A boy this big.
- His eyes were so small that it seemed he didn't have them.
- A Japonese boy this big.
- Now, there were about 300 reporters at the scene
- and Media from all over the world
- at the site where the boy would be presented.
- People taking hundreds of pictures
- because the heir of the throne of Japan was borne.
- That boy hasan't done anything yet,
- like fighting inflation, or signing a bill, nothing!
- He was just borne.
- But he was aborne with "Kabowd."
- He was borne with a glory that is inherent to his condition.
- Do you understand it?
- So, from now on we'll deal with "Kabowd."
- Maybe you wanna ask: "pastor what about Shekinah?"
- I won't deal with Shekinah because
- it's not a biblical word.
- You won't find the word Shikanah in the Old Testament anywhere.
- Shekinah, which represents the glory,
- the word itself doesn't mean glory.
- It represents it.
- It's a Hebrew term with a broader meaning.
- It comes from Hebrew tradition.
- Because a Jew is fearful to pronounce the name of God (YHVH)
- as well as the word "Kabowd."
- It's because they understand that pronouncing the name o God
- or His glory all the time, is not auspicious.
- It has always been like that.
- Then they came up with the word "Shekinah"
- to describe God's manifestation
- without having to pronounce the sacred word "Kabowd"
- which expresses the manifestation of God's glory.
- Give glory to God tonight!
- Ok. Now pay attention to this.
- When I deal with God's glory
- by concidering the two texts we just read,
- I identified two behavior patterns
- of the glory of God.
- two patterns.
- When I typify the glory of God
- through the behavior of the Ark of Covenant
- - because it was the place when God showed up often -
- the first pattern I see
- is when the God's glory is at rest.
- So, look at this.
- This stage is typified by the Ark at rest in the Holy of holies,
- in the someone's house
- or in David's tent.
- The glory at rest, is the glory hid behind of a system.
- In order to get to the Ark when it was at rest,
- the person needed to go through a process
- created to protect the glory and the people.
- Say with me "a system."
- Therefore, the only way to relate with God's glory was through the system.
- They had the tabernacle and all their rituals
- to deal with that.
- Only through that system it was possible.
- People never got close to God
- because between God and them there was a ritual
- that separeted them and protected the people.
- This ritual was the process Moses created
- to get to God's presence from a safe distance.
- Now, this is very interesting.
- This is no record
- of people dieing
- while the Ark was at rest.
- Now, pay attention to what I just said.
- Every time the Ark was resting in the Holy of holies,
- or in homes, as in the house of Abinadab, Obed-Edom,
- or in the tent of David,
- there is no biblical records
- that anybody had died.
- But pastor, there is a tale that the priest
- had to go in with a robe tied on his waist...
- Yes, this is a jewish tradition tale.
- you can find in the second most sacred book,
- the Talmud, thank you.
- It's in the Talmud but not in the Bible.
- However, there is no record, not even in history
- that anyone had ever died
- by entering in the Holy of holies
- to offer the annual sacrifice, which was done by the High Priest.
- Who understand that?
- I'm telling you the result of an extensive research.
- The Church is a living body,
- which expresses itself through a system.
- The Church has principles to follow,
- rituals to execute, such as baptism,
- Communion, membership, levels o leadership,
- and an administrative structure.
- All this reveals the glory of God at rest
- behind of a system.
- It can be a genuine divine glory, but it's at rest.
- So, pay attention to this.
- We normally guess that a system
- is always something bad.
- In reality it's not.
- A system is neither bad or good,
- A system is a system.
- Now, I can transform a system in a good thing,
- or I can transform it in a bad thing.
- One thing is for sure:
- There is no how to make a living body function without the support of a system.
- Here is my living body.
- you can see part of it: my hands, my face
- and nothing else.
- Why? Because I need a system.
- I need cloths, accessories, shoes,
- to appear in public and to express my self.
- How many understand it?
- The problem is that we don't know,
- first, how to deal with this glory
- that rests behind the system,
- and, second, we don't know that the glory has a second stage of manifestation.
- So, let me brake this down for you.
- When you come from the world and get saved,
- you come broken.
- We had yesterday a beautiful experience at church.
- this guy, from a family of witches, came to Jesus.
- He called me at our radio show crying, a few days ago,
- and I challenged him to come to the church,
- and he came yesterday and was delivered.
- It was beautiful.
- This gentleman doen't know God yet.
- He still doen't know how to relate to God on his own.
- He will go through a teaching process,
- by attending classes for new converts and so on.
- Until he doesn't learn how to relate to God on his own,
- what will protect him?
- What will keep him moving forward?
- It is what he will find in the system, which is established.
- He will come and find a building,
- a pastor preaching on the pulpit,
- a choir singing,
- an organized worship team ministering,
- a youth group, women's group and etc...
- This whole struture works as a protection for the new borne Christian,
- until he gets mature enough to relate to God
- in an intimate and deeper way, which is the ultimate
- goal of God's Word:
- to transform us from glory to glory "unto the perfect day",
- or "that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God."
- Give glory to God!
- This glory at rest
- doesn't kill.
- It's because it is seen just from a safe distance.
- There are many layers of things from the system
- that filters this glory.
- This glory doen't kill, you don't need to worry about it.
- Sometimes people come to the church and have no idea of what is happening there.
- Sometimes people are out of this world.
- some of them come to church concerned about the work they have to do after the service,
- Completely tuned out.
- However they come and go alive,
- because they are protected.
- Between them and the glory that kills
- there are layers of the system, which filters it.
- There is a word in English very hard to translate into Portuguese:
- it's "dimming".
- You probably know that little gear
- that you connect to a light,
- and, as you turns it, light faints.
- It doesn't turn off, just faints a bit.
- Who knows what I talking about?
- That is it. The action of turning the light down is "dimming",
- and the gear is a dimmer.
- I really don't know what would be the best word in Portuguese for this.
- But my point is exactly this.
- You come to church,
- the service has started.
- So, if the worship team is not leading the service,
- if nothing is being done to push you forward,
- to take you to the presence of God,
- most of the people would leave the same way,
- without any kind of experience with God.
- However, because you come and find a worship team,
- someone ministering over you,
- someone praying for you,
- and blessing you,
- a pastor preaching the revelation God's Word,
- so, what happens is that
- the veil starts to open up
- because that estructure
- helps you to relate to God
- without being crushed by the bare glory of God,
- because both, in the OT and in the NT,
- for many times the glory was manifested visibly and strongly.
- Give glory to God!
- Then, we are talking about the glory at rest behind the system.
- People came and met the tarbenacle.
- They saw the cloud of glory descending on the tabernacle,
- into the Holy of holies.
- But that was all they could see.
- Their relationship with all that
- was to come to the entrance of the tabernacle
- carrying a lamb
- to give to the priest, which took it
- and sacrificed it upon the brazen altar,
- burnt it up,
- and offered it to the Lord
- as a substitution for their sin.
- In the end of the year the whole nation came
- for the Yon Kippur ritual.
- Every body stayed on the out side watching
- as the presence of God, in a thick cloud,
- descended into the tabernacle.
- That was the glory of God at rest.
- Now, the second stage
- is what we are going to deal from now on.
- I'm reasoning by elimination.
- I had no other option than doing this
- in this introduction.
- We are going to deal with this second stage of God's glory.
- Because, what the theme of my message again?
- "When the glory is on the move."
- The glory on the move is typified
- every time the Ark of Covenant was move
- out of its place of rest
- and moved amongst the people.
- It happened many times.
- The Ark was exposed
- as it left its place of rest
- and transited amid the people
- for a purpose.
- Every time the Ark left its place of rest
- it also left... list to this!
- It also came out of the jurisdiction of the system
- and started to function under new rules.
- Let's pause here!
- Say with me:
- "There were rules for the Ark to be at rest!"
- "But the rules when the Ark was on the move were different!"
- Hummmmmm!
- And you will see from now on
- that when people died,
- it happened exactly because they didn't know
- the difference between when the Ark was at rest,
- when the glory was settled,
- from when the Ark started to move.
- Some just didn't understand
- that the rules were different
- and that there was a new concept,
- because that Ark wasn't at rest any more,
- now it was in movement.
- It came out of the tent, out of the protection fence
- and now it was bare in the middle of the camp.
- It was the symbol of the presence of God
- in the middle of the camp with no veil.
- Say with me: "no veil".
- And all deaths in the Old Testament,
- related to the Ark,
- came to pass when the Ark was on the move.
- when the Ark was out of its place of rest!
- This is when some people died dealing with the Ark.
- Oh my God!
- The great concern of the priets and kings
- is that no one could control the glory that was in the Ark,
- when it was on the move.
- When the glory of God moves in the church,
- It leaves the jurisdiction of the system.
- Queerly, every time the Ark killed someone, it was on the move.
- But, also, every time the Ark was out of its place of rest,
- the people of Israel obtained their greatest victories.
- Now stand up please.
- I just have two minutes left.
- And I'll wrap it up
- because there are good things still coming up
- and I want to get fed too.
- Now, listen to this.
- Tomorrow,
- we'll deal with the following:
- The movement of the glory
- exposes the real intention of the hearts.
- Then we are going to work from this perspective
- of the presence of God moving among His people in a deep level of intimacy.
- How many of you
- whish to develop a personal and intimate relationship with God, raise your hand.
- It's beautiful, wonderful, the Bible estimulates it,
- however you need to understand, biblically,
- the implications thereof.
- As I spoke in the beginning of my speach,
- one of the reasons why revival comes and goes,
- is because at any moment of that relationshp,
- between the church and the glory transiting
- out of the jurisdiction of the system,
- many people were not prepared to deal with it.
- Some know very well to relate to God through the system,
- but they don't know to relate to God, in a personal relationship.
- I'll go beyond that.
- Some churches,
- after a quick or long revival,
- went through the worst apostasy of their history.
- Did you know that the Azusa Street church is sympathetic to homosexuals?
- They were visited by an apostolic concil a few years ago,
- because they are denying hell.
- Now, how is it possible?
- how can a church be a yardstick of revival,
- and ending up being a reference of apostasy.
- You are going to understand that tomorrow, because we'll talk about that:
- "When the glory is on the move."
- Clap your hands to the Lord.
