Mva`a II, small village of Cameroon, located in the Centre region.
At forty two kilometres outside of Yaoundé.
Despite its equatorial climate and its dense forest,
Mva`a II like most of the villages in Cameroon knows,
a slowdown in its economy.
Thus, an overflow of small scale business.
Within the YETAM Project,
which is all about empowering
Youths through Arts and Medias,
we met
Mr. Nkomo Dieudonné, shoe -mender for more than 25 years.
How long have you been a shoe-mender?
It is more than 25 years now.
Anyway my daughter-
It helps me,
though I do not see any development.
There is no progress.
I am a man with many responsibilities.
You see,
I have a big family.
This job is not rewarding enough to allow me take care of my family.
Here, we are in the middle of nowhere.
I live at the back of beyond.
I get nothing from my job here.
I am just managing my daughter.
The point is that
I do not know what to tell you.
You have noticed that since morning-
since I left my house-
to come and get the ten –ten francs customers pay me
I have got nothing here.
It is frustrating.
Here,
we are in the country side.
I am in my village here,
in the country side.
Business is not developed here.
