In the beautiful hills of Caras county...
Lies a village called Firliug
Here is the village entry
General view
Images from Firliug
Here started in 2007 the project
Knowledge Based Economy
And a Public Point for Access to Information began
In the beginning the PAPI was quite empty
But then the villagers were curious to see what is this thing called Internet
And then was the "Get online Day"
Dedicated volunteers: the 8th grade pupils of the local school
They have mobilised the community to come and learn about Internet
Their story does not stop here
They edit the school's newspaper
They photocopy it
And the whole village reads their creation
"Child's Voice" is read also by the priest or the teachers
They are the heroes of the day!
Photos: 8th grade pupils, coordinated by Mioara Zuza
More about them...
Public Point for Access to Information: Adriana Saraor - manager and Mariana Poama - IT
With a little help from Teodora Borghoff - concept and Alex Imparat - editing
Get Online Day, March 4th, 2010
